Basic report writing skills

Ability to assess whether to continue driving in rainy or adverse conditions while carrying people and equipment
4x4 driving skills

Position Summary:

The DRIVER is accountable to safely transport people, equipment and / or goods to and from an assigned area or operate machinery and equipment while ensuring that the vehicle is always in a good condition.

At least 2 years experience as a driver.

Job Requirements:

Check vehicles, machinery and equipment before driving / operating them to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Adhere to Lonmin road safety rules and regulations.
Follow appropriate safety procedures when transporting people and equipment.
Adherence to standard operating procedures.
Adherence to transport / work schedules.
Obtain receipts or signatures for deliveries.
Ensure that people and equipment attachments are safe and secure before driving / operation.
Adhere to vehicle maintenance schedules.
Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status.
Report vehicle, machinery and equipment defects, accidents, traffic violations, damage to the vehicles or loss of equipment.
Provision of log books as and when required.
Reporting of unexpected delays.
